From the archives of Willis Weldin, and then through my friend George Alderman’s hands, I gained access to what appears to be the all the timecards from the 1964 Autosprint series of the Delaware Auto Sport Club.

From the archives of Willis Weldin, and then through my friend George Alderman’s hands, I gained access to what appears to be the all the timecards from the 1964 Autosprint series of the Delaware Auto Sport Club.
In September I participated in the Put-In-Bay Road Race Reunion. In the process, there was a small but significant gathering of the H-Modified Racing Club. Even though I was having a grand time, the other club members decided I needed something additional to smile about.
Early in the last race of the Lime Rock Historics I experienced a bit of resistance in the steering of my Macon MR7.
As with shaving, so goes racing. If you get too close you bleed.

Special Formula Ford Issue
I bought this issue specifically to get the Formula Ford content and was not disappointed. It even references Macon on page 48!
Recently, a SAAB powered road racing special resurfaced and was sold to a New England based collector and racer. It has been relocated to the Lime Rock, CT area and a restoration is being planned.
This car piqued my interest because it tickled a memory in the back of my brain. It also has some interesting bits and bobs that popped up in the photos of the auction. As it turns out, this car had an interesting 15 minutes of fame in the SAAB world.
Motorsport News of Delaware Valley, Volume I, Number 4
This issue just turned up in my files and it is a special one indeed, at least to me.
As individuals and as a family of SAAB owners, the list impresses even me. Today, with the last new SAAB having been built over a decade ago, it becomes more difficult to see how this list may grow in the future, but I thought it would be fun to actually create the list. My memory will need jogging, I’m sure. So this is likely to grow and gain accuracy over time.
Initially, I will list those cars that were or are mine as an individual. From there, I’m going to jump to the family.
Motorsport News of Delaware Valley, Volume II, Number 2
In this issue we learn about the new, very clean looking, C-Mod challenger from Ray Heppenstall. There’s an introduction to the new Pocono Mountains International Raceway. My favorite is the small article focusing on Ice Racing written by Harry Reynolds.
If things had gone to plan, rather than doing a photoshoot of my car on this day, I would have been loading it on the trailer. I would have been getting ready to drive it for my first time, at the great Summit Point track in West Virginia. Well Covid-19 and quarantine ended up having something to say about that.
